Friday 13

If you could be anything in this world...eh-nee-t'ing...

...stretch your imagination...

...what you would be?

This week, after a trip into town, I realise what I want to be.

But first, tell me then I gon tell you.

Look, is Friday 13, we better have fun.

Anything, ML, doesn't matter...because when you hear what I want to be...

If I am going to stretch my imagination I would say that I would like to be...The Wind! If I could be the wind I could flow from every angle of the globe. I would be both feared and loved depending on the season. I'd blow through Chicago in the Winter causing people to stay off the streets and curse me as sweep by. I'd move like a freight train through the midwest with Hurricane force as I skip the house that the creator told me to not harm. Finally, I'd be that cool Island breeze off the coast as I breeze through the trees. There would be people sitting under the trees as I cool their brows while they dream pleasant thoughts and inhale me as they sigh. Yes, I'd be the Wind! :)

Otherwise, I want to be a loved and respected writer. Have a great weekend!

I want to be able to travel around in time, but be invisible to others. So, a invisible time traveler.
Ok, now wha you want to be?

Anything?? I would be me... but I would live forever! I'm too curious to die. I want to see what happens to the world a million years from now!

By the way, you came by my site a minute too early. I just posted a jumbie story :)

Retired
Oh and with a younger body more suited to my juvenile brain

and can I be immortal like viking too please?

Hmmm, lemme see now, haven't thought it out yet though. I'd love to be able to sing. I'd love to perform in front of thousands and thousands of people. I think it's one of the most awesome talent ever.

I'd like to be a frying pan. Why? But why not? Or a prying fan. Or no: a flying kite. How many wishes can I make? Another one? Then I make the wish I can make as many wishes as I want. I'd like to be nothing; or everything; or a wall; or an antelope; or you. Yes, you: this is what you wanted me to say isn't it? Because you know very well that it's impossible.

i would be water. it is calm and peaceful or terrifying and destructive. it is life sustaining. whether it is crystal blue or muddy brown, there is always life teeming within and around it. it drips through fingers, caresses skin, warms the body. it is cleansing and tastes and smells just as sweet. it comes in so many forms, snow, rain, the dew in the morning sliding down soft blades of grass... water... that's what I would be

If I could be anything, it would be a brilliant painter, that wears a size 6.

Now, after reading all these beautiful and interesting things that you'd all like to be, do I feel ashamed of what I want to be...?

This might sound schupitt, but I want to have super human powers. I want to be extremely strong, have the ability to fly, and can kick butt like Halle Berry in catwoman. I also want to have the ability to freeze and heat things. Easier to fix myself lunch. :D

I would be on contract to a magazine or publishing house. I would travel slowly, recording my observations, supported by the publishing house.

But I don't want to change! Except insofar as I am changing, in an ordinary growing kind of way... I'm very happy being me, becoming me. Can I stay as I am, please?

I wouldn't mind being an outrageously successful writer leading a life of blissful anonymity.

Periods? Just once, a long time ago....
A period when I wanted to become an actor! Like Clint Eastwood!
Nowadays, I'd like to be bird and a cat put together. Bird because I'll be able to fly wherever I want and when I get tired I become a cat and sit in the sun just dreaming...
Bird and cat? Is that a plain old Bat? I hope not!!!

I don't know where I want to be. But I would like a surprise. Just take myself to the airport and randomly buy a first class ticket to a location. Ah....wishful thinking.

Becoming a better person is what I want to be.
Every Ramadan I try to pick up a good habit or try and break a bad one.
GG, I thank you for giving us such great enjoyment with your blog.

A clever and witty travel writer that only reviews 5 star places, with a big beeeeeeg budget, and no deadlines, and no periods either.

Guyana-Gyal said...

Actually, all I want to be is like Quick...outrageously successful writer, living a blissful life, anonymous.

If I could be anything it would be a dancer.
But actually I just want to keep all my children safe and out of harms way and guide them to bliss. Too much to ask?

Gela's Words said...

Not fair GG, you're not telling us what you really want to be!

Stephen Bess said...

GG, you're on your way! :)

Robin said...

GG I'm sure it's only a matter of time, you have a true gift, you are a word painter of wonderful pictures, you charm us all, especially with your creole dialect
I'm sure your wish will come true, of that I have no daubt

and I can't wait by all your books

Guyana-Gyal said...

Robin, thank youuu. I will hold on to that thought and keep it close and let it take me there.

Stephen, coming from you, a very talented man, WOW, thank you!

You can still try dancing, Mary. What you want for your children is what I want for my niece and nephews. And I wish I could wrap them up in cotton wool and keep them safe, stupid, stupid me.

Yes, I did, Gela, I did...exactly like Quick...outrageously successful as a writer and living a life of bliss in anonymity.

I'd like to be a nun in charge of a big garden and some bees, but I wouldn't do the 4.00am prayers and I'd be allowed mascara lol!
I want peace and quiet and contemplation.

*sorry for coming in unannounced*
i would love to be the sun because i get to shine and give light and life. I would get to inflict sunburns and at the same time get to warm some homeless people when they got nothing to warm them.Plus the sun always ok most of the time does put asmile of peoples faces.
Now what iam workingot be is to be a humanitarian, to bring a smile to those whocannot. To hold children who have no one to hold them, offer a shoulder to cry on and hold the hand of one who feels lost. That is for sure what warms my heart.

ML said...

gg - wha wrong wid what you want to be? It sounds like you getting there!

Guyana-Gyal said...

ML, is hard to get published, especially from this part o' the world.

Hello Gishungwa, you're very welcome with your warm sunshine heart.

Apprentice, that reminds me, have you ever read The Secret Life of Bees? My cousin keeps telling me to read it.

You should read it GG, I have. It's an excellent book.
